Granite Peak Insurance introduced an online claims filing system this month. Customer service manager Renee Walsh said that, starting immediately, policyholders can file car and home claims through the company website. Walsh explained that the new system cuts average processing time from two weeks to five days. Walsh added that most claims now receive an initial response within twenty-four hours. Customers still have the option to file claims by phone if they prefer.

Walsh said the system asks customers simple questions and uploads photos automatically. Policyholders receive a claim number immediately after they submit the form online. Adjusters review each claim and, in most cases, contact customers within two business days. Granite Peak Insurance plans to add a mobile app version by next year. Early feedback from customers, the company says, has been very positive. Customers with questions about the new system can call the claims department.
